The spiral saw tooth cutter is a drain cable tool for cutting branches, roots and braids in pipes. The saw blade has a saw tooth profile on one side. It is spirally wound outwards from the centre of the tool when viewed from the front. This has the advantage that the incisors are set on almost the entire diameter of the head, similar to a saw ring. This means that wood in the reed can be effectively sawn even if the wickerwork is of different sizes. The saw teeth of the cutting head cut forward, i.e. in the direction of flow of the pipe.
The spiral saw tooth cutter may only be used specifically for drain cleaning, as it can also damage pipes, especially PP or PE pipes. Care must be taken to ensure that, for example, the pipe is not cut straight through at a branch. Due to its short construction it is still relatively easy to bend.
The cutting heads are available with 16mm T-Nut, 22mm T-Nut and 32mm T-Nut coupling. Pipes from DN50 up to DN200 can be cleaned. In order to meet the requirements for performance and power of the drain cable tool, the spiral saw tooth cutting heads should only be used with reinforced pipe cleaning spiralsdrain cleaning cables core (S-SMK). Standard spirals are often too soft for sawing and could bend.
