X-Tip chain knocker with carbide, for cast iron, clay and metal pipe, for 6mm & 8mm shaft

This lightweight X-Tip chain knocker is designed for thinner shafts and smaller drive sources. It is used for clearing blockages in metal, cast iron and ceramic pipes.

This chain is not suitable for PVC pipes – it works too aggressively for them.

Lightweight construction

The chain links are only 3.5mm in diameter. That reduces the overall weight considerably, relieves the shaft and allows operation with less torque. This matters particularly with thin shafts, as the lightweight chain needs less power than a heavy-duty one – while still delivering strong cleaning performance.

Cutting action

The chain links carry tungsten carbide teeth fused to the cutting edge. Besides blockages the chain also removes tuberculation and lime scale, though more slowly than a circular descaling chain designed specifically for that job.

It is suitable for pipes made of metal, cast iron, concrete, copper, steel and ceramic.

Construction

Chains and hubs are made from stainless steel. The hubs let you adjust the chain: spreading them further apart sets a slightly smaller cleaning diameter. Centrifugal force centres the tool inside the pipe, so the entire inner circumference is cleaned.

Depending on the size, the chain knocker consists of one to three chains. This version is not available with a drill head.

Use

• Fit the chain knocker to the flexible shaft with the set screws
• Insert it into the pipe and start cleaning
• Flush the pipe after cleaning to carry out the debris

This chain suits the Picote Mini Cleaner and Mini Miller, the Milwaukee M18 FUEL High Speed Flexible Shaft Machine and the RIDGID K9-102 and K9-204 FlexShaft® machines, as these use 6mm and 8mm shafts.

For 10mm and 12mm shafts we offer the heavy-duty version of the X-Tip chain, also with a drill head.
